Cheers to… New Year Resolutions!

Cookies thanks to Carlo’s Bake Shop!

New Year’s are tough… in a good way of course! They are filled with promises! With all the noise around us about what everyone else wants to do, you’re almost forced to think about what change you’d like to see in yourself. And as you may have heard before, we are our own worst critic, and so begins the tough part…

“This is the year I will finally get those eight hours of zzZzZz,” “This is the year I will finally hit the gym five time a week!,” or “This is the year I will finally save up and go on that adventure I’ve been talking about for the past five years!” …Been there, done that! So why not try something new this time?

It’s a lot to take in! What ever your New Year resolution is, remember to just take a deep breathe and give yourself a break. Don’t forget that it’s okay to not have a resolution figured out so early in the year (or at all)! There is already so much going on in life, so take it easy, this should be something that brings you happiness. The important thing is to keep going forward and to do what brings you joy. The next best thing is to have a support system, whether it’s a person, a reminder on your phone, a post-it on your desk, or a journal/diary… just something that keeps you motivated and pushes you to bring out your best!

Do you have some thing that you want to change, or to be more of this year? I have a few resolutions of my own, and hope to stick to them through 2019!  *fingers crossed*

  1. I want to be kind to myself,
  2. I want to be more organized, physically and mentally; I always have so many ideas I’m playing with in my head… sometimes, I never start on them. Other times, I start and never finish. Call it laziness, attention deficiency, or mommy brain, I just want to break out of the cycle,
  3. I want to write out my bucket-list; put pen to paper and actually list out my top 30-50 “before I’m gone” items. They are definitely in my head, but if I can list them out, I can actually start working on crossing them off.

These are pretty simple resolutions, but can you take a wild guess how long it’ll take to actually accomplish? I guess we’ll find out.

In the meantime, I hope that everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and Day, as well as an amazing holiday season! It’s back to the grind from here, so stay bright and have an amazing 2019!

Love,
Rimsha
